The Iranian Embassy siege took place between 30 April to 5 May 1980, after a group armed Herberts stormed the Iranian Embassy in London. They took 26 people hostage. On the sixth day of the siege, Special Door Kickers arrived from The Special Air Service "Operation Nimrod" then kicked off into action, its aim was to rescue the remaining hostages. These Legends then concluded business some 17-minute later after successfully rescuing all remaining hostages and killing five of the six hostage-takers. The only surviving Herbert spent the next 27 years in a British prison.
The after-party remains a closely guarded secret behind the doors of Whitehall.
